Steamboat Ski Resort--Saturday, January 31 to Saturday, February 7. Our band of hearty Steamboat, CO adventurers were treated to an awesome week of spring-like weather. Unusual for this winter season, is the lack of accumulated snow pack, most west areas are well below 50% of the measured parameters. Steamboat was a relative shining star, in that, their ski area cared for what Mother Nature has begrudgingly delivered.
Those that did enjoy Steamboat’s tasty variety of ski runs, were probably filmed while doing so…our resident “Warren Miller” seemed to be everywhere. There were also many worthwhile off-slope activities to explore and the transportation options were a great help. We did manage to lift the weight from our shoulders and spend an evening, via gondola, at the Thunderhead Lodge, fully mesmerized, by the “Worried Men” band, during the Sunset Happy Hour.
Once again, Steamboat provided a merry mix of activities and did so in a very inviting manner.
