The EISC is pleased to announce we are planning two major West ski trips in 2026. In order to better control the costs of travel, we made them both drive yourself/carpool trips. Both are Ikon resorts and lift tickets will be included in the price. However, both are covered by the discounted Ikon Base pass. Both trips will go on sale at the EISC Spring Picnic, June 7, 2025.

The first West trip is to Steamboat Springs, Colorado from January 31 to February 7, 2026. We will be skiing the Champagne Powder and staying in The Lodge at Steamboat condos, in the village, one block from the gondola. We will have room for 30 members staying in 3 3br/3bth and 3 2br/2bth condos. We are happy to have veteran Trip Leaders Chip and Diane Scholl back to host this adventure.
The last two trips (2018 was the last time) the club traveled to Steamboat it was in early January so we could see the Cowboy downhill and it seemed like early season snow. This time we are later in the year and will hopefully have better snow. The resort has changed a lot since our last visit. Alterra (Ikon) made a $200 million investment in recent resort improvements at Steamboat. It is now the second largest ski resort in Colorado. The new Wild Blue Gondola is the longest and fastest 10-person gondola in North America. The Greenhorn Ranch is a state-of-the-art learning center, reimagined après ski plaza, pumped up snowmaking capabilities, and 650 acres of new expert terrain with an all-new winter trail map. The new terrain increases Steamboat's trail count to 181, lifts to 23, and skiable acreage to 3,741.
Steamboat isn’t just a resort, its Ski Town, U.S.A®; where visitors gather by the fire or float through the Champagne Powder® snow. Stroll down Main Street and refuel with a hearty meal from over 100 bars and restaurants. Learn to ski at Greenhorn Ranch, our terrain based dedicated learning center. The second West trip is to Winter Park, Colorado from March 1 to March 8, 2026. We are excited to return to one of the club’s favorites and will be staying at the Zephyr Mountain Lodge. These are ski in/ski out condos on the edge of the village. We will have room for 24 members staying 6 2br/2bth condos. We are pleased to have experienced Colorado ski trip specialists Kathy Takes and Kari Wheeler as the EISC Trip Leaders on for this ski outing.
The club last visit to Winter Park was in 2020 also staying at the Zephyr Mountain Lodge. We had so much fun on the two mountains & seven areas that make up Winter Park/Mary Jane that we decided to return. From the top of the Panoramic Express to watching the skiers return while sitting in the hot tubs, this is a very special and fun resort.
With an 80-year history, Winter Park Resort is Colorado's longest continually operated ski resort. Previously voted as North America's #1 Ski Resort by USA Today Readers three times and Colorado's Top Adventure Town by Elevation Outdoors, Winter Park is your launching point to Venture Out. The Average Annual Snowfall at Winter Park Resort is over 344.6 inches of snow annually and it has the most consistent snow season after season. The Elevation at Winter Park Resort's base sits at 9,000 ft with 3,060 ft of vertical rise, putting its beautiful summit at 12,060 ft. The Two Distinct Mountains make up Winter Park and Mary Jane®, including Parsenn Bowl®, Vasquez Ridge®, Eagle Wind® and The Cirque. The Trails make up 3,081 total skiable acreage that includes 166 designated trails and 1,212 acres (490 hectares) of off-piste terrain, including Vasquez Cirque and glade skiing. There are 23 lifts, including three high-speed six-pack lifts, one 10-person gondola, six high-speed express quads, three triples, six double chairlifts, three surface lifts, and one rope tow.
Sign up starts at the EISC Spring Picnic on June 7, 2025. We hope you can join your friends on these next EISC adventures!
