Culinary Night at Ox Yoke Inn

A group of seven members attended the April EISC Culinary event at Ox Yoke Inn in the Amanas. We did have to move the dinner time up by a half-hour due to the restaurant closing at 7pm. Although the group was here a couple of years ago, sauerbraten was available this time and enjoyed by three of the diners. The group elected to have family-style dining, so all of the sides were served in bowls for sharing with refills; however, takeout isn’t permitted for the sides when doing so. The food was great and portion sizes were good (not many people took home leftovers). Prices were a little higher due to choosing family-style dining, but still reasonable. We all enjoyed good food, drinks, and conversation; we almost had the restaurant to ourselves on a Tuesday evening.
Due to issues with downtown construction and parking, the location of the next culinary event is being changed from Mi Lindo Vallarta to Adelita’s Mexican Grill (2833 Blairs Ferry Rd NE, Cedar Rapids) on Tuesday, May 13th at 6:00 pm.
